Biography

I was born Jeni Rebeca Rivero, in a small town in Kentucky in 1971 but lived most of my life in Idaho until i moved to Caracas, Venezuela in 2005. My mother is Venezuelan and is the parent that raised me. I grew up being constantly influenced, and sometimes bombarded by artists, musicians, plenty of cultural contradictions, and crises of identity. All of that along with typical and not so typical life experience are what shape my music. I've been a child, both a happy one and a lonely one. I am a mother - I've been both a good one and a bad one. I've been married - happily at times, unhappily at others. I am a woman but sometimes that seems irrelevant to me. I understand the benefits of experiencing pain but will do just about anything to avoid it... Details don't matter much to me. I've always been much more interested in expressing ideas and emotions and I write them down out of personal necessity - and because I seem to be incapable of doing anything else. I hope it's worthwhile...
